Just noticed that my washing machine isn't heating the water.

The machine is a Bosch WFD 2471

It only has a cold water input.

The washing cycle proceeds as it should, the water just doesn't get hot.

Any ideas where I can start looking for a cause to the fault please, or will I have to spend a fortune on getting it professionally examined and repaired?

Thanks

Several things you can try fairly quickly if you have the kit and knowledge

If you have a plug in type power monitor you can plug the washing machine into it and once it has done the first rinse cycle and drained it will fill and you can look to see if it is drawing more power (round about 2400w) as the heater is engaged.
Check the heater element, look to see if the connectors are ok and firmly attached.
Check continuity through the heater (should be around 26 ohms)

Little more awkward

Check for burn marks or bad solder joint around the heater relay on the PCB
Check pressure switch is fully operational
Check wiring loom for damage
