have you checked the filter. a blocked filter will cause this.
just checked mine for blockages
i've had a hosepipe going to the drum. runs out of the pump drain. no problem
hosepipe into the drain pipe end . clears through to the drain pump
tested element . all good
the pcb appears to have no signs of burn out or does any where else
taken the thermostat out . a little scaled up but no drama. haven't checked it though

It might be the multi-function/program switch. The newer ones are computer controlled, but older machines use multi contacts with a timer mechanism. Over time the contacts arc out.New switch probably in excess of £70.
