washing machine wont rinse and no heat

Ive got an indesit washing machine that won't rinse and the latest wash has been going on for 3 hours without rinsing. A lot of suds and it seems as if there's no heat as it's on 90 degrees. It will rinse though if I close the cycle and start with a rinse. Any ideas please?

Probably a faulty heater element or thermostat. The timer will not move to the next stage until the thermostat tells it that the correct temperature has been reached.

I wouldn't tell the engineer anything, nothing worse than a know-it-all when your on a call. Describe the symptoms and let him make a diagagnosis, if its different to the response above, SUGGEST a faulty stat or heater element.

The last thing you want is to be putting up a post entitled 'Why will nobody fix my machine!"

That's right, one thing I never ask is "What's wrong with your machine?". I usually ask "What's happening with your machine?", a subtle but important difference.
