Water heater problem

Hi

We can hear water flow in our Chaffoteaux Et Maury Britony 2 T, even though all the cold and hot water taps are closed.

Any ideas.

Does the burner flame ignite? Does the noise stop if you close off the cold supply to the water heater?

The burner ignites and the noise stops when the water main is turned off.

So the water must be flowing to somewhere! Are you sure there aren't any taps open? Or perhaps a leak under the floor that you can't see?
