I had a minor incident with an overflowing WC combined with a blocked overflow (!) which led to some water coming through our main kitchen light. It's an Ikea job with 4 individual spotlights on a pair of tracks.
Due to the design of the central wiring bit of the fitting, water completely filled it. I didn't switch it on. I could hear buzzing so switched off the electrics and took it down and poured out the water.
I've read elsewhere that one can normally dry fittings and re-fit them but wondered whether because of the buzzing that means the unit is fried?
I have no way of testing the light other than re-fitting it which worries me slightly as a way of finding out!
Any view much appreciated for an electrics novice.
