water mark in ceilings

we had water come through the bathroom floor and has left a big brown stain ring on the ceiling in the lounge, even though i have let it dry rubbed it down and painted over it several times in dulux one coat you can still see the stain. how can it be removed. thanks

You need to seal it.
Use diluted pva, paint it on let it dry apply paint.

You can get a spray "paint" from the sheds especially for this job - I think Polycel make it. It works a treat.
