Hi, Ive been thinking of fitting a water softner in my four beedrom house, can anyone recomend the magnetic/electronic type that dont cost anything to maintain, if so which is the best make to go for.
thanks steve
Water softeners work with Ion resin exchange process where the minerals are taken out of the water by the resin beads leaving softened water. The resin beads need to regenerate depending on water use with a brine solution cleaning the minerals out which is done with salt tablets or blocks.
The units also need power and a connection to a drain and cost from about £350 upwards depending on size and if metered or timed regeneration.
