Hi,

I'm looking to replace my kitchen and dining room with wet underfloor heating. The floor is wooden joists and I'm looking to have between joist heating installed using aluminium spreader plates. My question is what floor covering is required above this if I was to either tile or lay an engineered wooden floor. I have read that people have used chipboard sheets but when I have previously tiled I have made sure that the ply I have used is screwed down at regular intervals - this obviously isn't possible with the chipboard as it would stretch across joists. Is it exactly the same for engineered wood?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Timeleon do a system that can go straight down on the joists and hold the pipe, then you can tile over that.

Nu-Heat might do a similar system too. Can't remember though.
