In past gardens I have tried Trachelospermum Jasminoid and Pileostegia Viburnoides. Both on walls.
I had more success with the Pileostegia, the location received minimal sunshine, but was very sheltered from the weather in an inner city environment. The TJ did ok, but never flowered properly and was in a pot.
My house now is near Bath and I have one long wall on the house facing westish. It gets a decent amount of sunshine, but does get a battering from the westerly fronts.
I know TJ is the more delicate of the two, but it has the fragrance that PV doesn't. I am pretty certain that a PV would flourish, but I wonder if anyone has tried the TJ in a similar location and not had it fail.
Thanks.
