I'm just renewing a toilet and the soil pipe is cast iron & internal.
As can be seen from photo where the soil pipe goes into the collar it is wrapped with denso? tape and this joint is flexible although not leaking.
At the toilet end of the pipe someones cemented a piece of 4" plastic pipe and the old toilet was connected to this via a multikwik.
I would like to replace the cast iron from the collar to the toilet but don't know if you can fit a plastic pipe into the collar (apart from the cementing option)
or if it's possible what sort of fitting is required. The cast pipe appears to have a circumference of 14".(pipe not collar)
As the joint is flexible I assume it will be easy to seperate the pipe from the collar
Also I know that joint shouldn't be flexible but how should the cast iron pipe have been connected to the cast collar?
Tia
