Hi, can anyone please help me with a problem I am having with my uPVC double doors on this nice sunny day?
I have an integral garage in my house, I don't use it for a car so about 6 years ago I had some uPVC double doors put on instead of the regualr garage door. In hot weather I always have an issue whereby if I open it I can close it but not lock it. I had the installer back a couple of times and they made some adjustments. After the third time they got a bit cagey and just said it was to do with the nature of the material expanding and contracting in heat, I've no ideas about the validity of this statement though?
I can sometimes muck about with it and get it to lock, but not today. I've had home emergency out a couple of times when I can't lock it and they have manipulated it very quickly to get it to lock but I have never got the exact knack of it.
It will lock eventually when it cools down but I'd like to get it fixed if possible. I've uploaded some pictures but please let me know if there are some better ones I could upload to help diagnose?
What hapens is:
1)The master door is on the left (from the outside) and both the L and R doors unlock and open with no issue.
2)When closing I need to push and lift the R door a bit to get it to close fully, I can then lock it.
3)I can close the L door ok, but the handle will not lift up fully so I cannot turn the key to lock it.
I guess the locking rods (correct term?) aren't quite lining up with the holes in the frame?
Any ideas greatly appreciated as I'm currently stood outside swearing at it.
