Hi
Would any-one with years of experience help with question on robustness of the following system of home heating. House is old and larger than average one with 5 bed-rooms upstairs and similar space down stairs.

There is this one -Open Vented and fully pumped heaing system

and the frequently talked as replacement for the open-vented-the selaed system.
Leave a side with the pipes from the boiler [the Open-Vented Fully pumped at present has 28mm pipes to & from the boiler]
which would be

1.More Robust and last longer.

2.Easy to repair. [For an example The Motor is seperate and out side in an open vented fully pumped, easy in theary to change or repair]

Or there is no such can be discussed as it depends on who you are talking
or Open Vented & fully pumped an old an obslite system no one familiar to be able to advice.

I would greatly appreciate your in-put.
Regards

Your post doesn't make much sense, but I believe that one of the considerations is the number of bathrooms which you don't mention.

Two full batrooms upstairs and down-stairs. Both have bath tabs and shower cubicles.
House has 5 washing basins without counting the one in the kitchen.
No dish washer.
Cold feed washing mechine [one year old]
12 Radiators...

why does that make any difference at all, the OP was asking about a sealed or o/v heating system nothing to do with hot water, most modern systems are sealed as they get rid of the f&e tank in the roof tend to not introduce air into the system which aids in stopping sludge forming however because the heating is now under pressure anything upto 3 bar it will find any leaks or weak points in your pipework or rads
