What music to Sky One series: Mad Dogs

Recently, Sky News has been flashing a trailer for a new drama series, soon to be screened. The series is called MAD DOGS and it is set in Mallorca.
The trailer is accompanied with a version of the George Gershwin song; Summertime and although I've tried to find out who sings it, via TV forums, no answer has been found.
So can anyone give me a clue as to who sings this version. I know it is NOT Sam Cooke, cos I already have it on disc.

Go on to youtube and type in summertime,there are a lot of versions there one of them might be the one you are looking for.
 
Thanks Big Bear, I've been there and can't see anyone that would fit the singer. Many of them I've heard before and some are female singers, so they are ruled out because it's a male vocalist.
Maybe when the series begins some one will post the answer.

Haven't watched any TV today, the wife's got the remote and she won't watch Sky News, but I should think so.

It was on at 4 oclock and the singer sounded like a female of the species.
 
Female? I'll have to check the batteries in my hearing aid. :D

Just caught it again,it is male, have no clue to who it though.

Nowt wrong with your hearing thoiugh Prentice. it's definitely Sam Cooke
I recorded both versions from your link and compared them


the waveforms blue are the stereo mix from the youtube link
and the ones in red from the trailer
the trailer one differs at the end due to the voiceover

Nice bit of work Matt, another problem solved.
 
I've listened to the link that Prentice posted and I agree it's undeniably Sam Cooke on that video clip.
As I said in my opening message I have the track by Sam Cooke, on his Portrait of a Legend disc and it sounds quite different to the early recording.

Better get myself along to the hearing centre.
