hi all,

I'm currently renovating my bathroom and I've had to remove some plasterboard walls as the tiles were well and truly stuck and thought that I might as well bite the bullet and replace the entire walls, problem is that one of the walls (exterior) hadone the foil backed plasterboard.

I was planning on replacing the walls with aquapanel but is this suitable to put in place where there was foil backed plaster board?

All the walls that I've ripped out are going to be re tiled and two of them are around the bath with an over head shower

any advice is greatly appreciated

Aquapanel is completely unaffected by water - but have you considered the modern insulation backing boards - they are both unaffected by water and waterproof when sealed at the joints - effectively tanking the area around the shower.

look at http://www.marmox.co.uk/products/marmox-waterproof-insulation-board

If you go for Aquapanel - put a sheet of wetroom tanking membrane over the area around the bath - down below the level of the bath top, then seal the bath to the tanking and seal the tiles to the bath - shouldn't leak in your lifetime.
It shouldn't cost much.
