Is it best to try to use a steamer to remove wallpaper or is it best to wet it and use a scraper?
Very naughty of you Old SaltI generally use the steamer and give the mrs the chore of difficult bits using a bucket, brush and scraper. I do help out once the rest is done though.
Sounds a practical idea but I'm too much of a perfectionist to do it that wayWay too much work going on here! Even if painted just find the join by the skirting and use a stanley knife to get the edge up. Then just pull. 99% of the time the top layer will pull off easy. Maybe not in one go but once you have an edge to pick at you carry on! You should always at least try this method before any steamer leaves it's box!
You've obviously had success with this way of doing it so I might give that a try. I've only got one room to do so it's not going to be too badWay too much work going on here!
