No, this is not a trick question! I am moving (hopefully, almost...) to a house with a tiny WC that currently has no basin, and with 2 boys, I need a basin in the there. But, this will be temporary (hopefully only 9 months) until I build a new bathroom. So, I'm thinking of the cheapest small one I can find with just a single cold tap. But, all the taps I see are mixers.

The room:

The cold feed to the loo is there (probably not drinking water, as there is a water tank in the loft) but OK for washing hands. And it will be temporary - in time I'll probably get rid of the tank and have a closed system, if this is possible without breaking the bank.

So, looking at slim basins like this:

But, where do I get a single tap these days? If I use a mixer, the hot hole will just leak, won't it?

Is it April 1st?
lol, no, I really was looking for a new single tap - still not found anywhere I can buy a single one, but a cheap pair won't break the bank!

Just get the mixer, connect both the flexis to the tap and stick one if these (1/2" blanking plug) on the 1/2" female end of the hot flexi connector-

Cunning! Thanks, seems so obvious now!

If you only ever want cold water, then use a single tap, but if you ever intend to pipe in the hot feed at a later date, then get the single tap, and do it sort of as Madrab suggests. Some single taps have copper tails (but not all) so you may need to change them for flexis, and then you'd follow Madrabs suggestion.

It will likely only have cold water - when I remodel the house, I'll have a WC with enough space for a decent sized basin.

jeez they will break the bank , i think you better stop now because your going to be bankrupt soon ;)
