Hi Guys,
I want to create a new doorway in one of my downstairs walls, this wall goes up past the first floor to the roof joists. So it has the first floor suspended on it etc. lots of people seem to be reccomending Catnic's on other posts but when you go to the Catnic website there are differn't lintels for differn't loads, they only specify standard load, heavy load, extra heavy load. how do you know what load you have without a structural engineer?? do you just get the extra heavy duty load one to be on the safe side or is this over engineering?
