whirlpool awm337 stops during rinse cycle

my whirlpool awm337 stops during the rinse cycle,if i press the start button it carries on then stops again after about 5 minutes.

i next tried to open the door 5 minutes after it had stopped during the rinse cycle (it was still locked) and it made a faint click started up again?is this coincidence or do you think it could be the door lock causing it to stop mid cycle ?
