Whirlpool gas hob ignition problem

I have a Whirlpool gas hob, sorry but I don't know the model there is nothing written on it. The electric ignition has suddenly stopped working.
I have taken the switch apart and it looks OK. It is just a contact onto 2 wires.
My question is - could there be a fuse built into the unit?
I've tried checking and there doesn't seem to be any power to the switch.

Model and serial are on the underside of the hob.
If the switch is working ok then either there's no power to it or the spark generator has failed.
