hi guys
i've a whirlpool 6th sense washing machine

if i select a wash it just keeps cycling the drain pump and the door doesn't lock

the drain system is working fine -there's no blockages

i think maybe i had the power washer running while washing-dunno if that caused it

any ideas? thanks

You need to post the service number on the door sticker....12 digits & starts with 85.
That said; if door doesn't lock & the pump cycles in short bursts then it sounds very much like a pcb issue :(

thanks
the code is 859213215003

the drain pump runs for about 10sec and there's a clicking noise and it starts over again

the 'remaining time' seems to count down normally

i'm an electrician with a little experience of repairing my on appliances ,s0 i'd like to get it sorted myself

Providing the pump doesn't pulse rapidly then try changing the door interlock, they are not expensive http://www.espares.co.uk/parts?k=481228058044 Error codes for this model are shown in the display (anything between F00 to F21). But for some strange reason there is no error code allotted to the door interlock

thanks
the door interlock seems to be faulty alright

when i removed the front panel and checked for switching on the 3 terminals with door open/closed -there was nothing

the actual red switch mechanism is making/breaking but it doesn't work as a whole unit

thanks zipper -you were spot on there

i picked one up off a repair guy yesterday morn and it fixed the problem

had to replace a hose on top of the machine as well-it came away from the clip and was damaged
