Hi has anyone used or seen these. Any idea what extra cost would be. Would it be the normal 15% increase for say wood effect.

Anyone think they look good or just a bad effort at wood effect.

Love wood but just don't want the upkeep of timber and the additional cost. Also part of the house has new UPVC white and to have half and half treated wood would look odd. thoght it would be a good compromise.

cheers, olas.

It looks great close up but from a distance can look a tad creamy. Depends on the look of the house too.

Yes the same price as foiled but as its still new peeps are adding that little bit extra to pricing

The doors look good - keep their colour, maintenance free and doors can be made to measure up to 81.5 inches high and 34 inches wide - so good for larger style openings. See them at www.thedoorworld.com - they only charge £99 for a solid door and that's delivered.

I've been a quality assurance inspector on upvc windows, doors and sealed glass units for the last 10 years. We started making this product about 18 months ago, and I have to admit, it looks ok.

My first thought upon seeing it was that it will get very dirty. Especially if you live by a main road, where all the road dust will be blown into the grain. I haven't seen any that have been installed for more than a few weeks though, so can't confirm this.

You should pay no more for this than a mahogany/oak coloured upvc, as it's only a foil coating and will cost no more, perhaps less, to produce.

Many thanks for your info. Much appreciated.

I hear you can have them with fake puttey to give them an even better look.

thanks again

Haha, I honestly haven't seen that before. Just standard beads and rubbers on our ones.

Im considering this foil effect also on a Evolution storm window. Does not seem too deep so Im thinking the dirt in the grain would be a problem. Has anyone had this fitted? I could just go for the plain UPVC option though.
