Just a quick question. Who invented woodchip? Are they still alive or have any living relatives? If so are their own houses covered in this godawful stuff?

I feel better now. Just spent the weekend removing 60 square metres of the rubbish.

Whether you prefer refined elegance, a rustic appearance or coarse grain, Erfurt Rauhfaser woodchip wallpaper gives your walls that little extra.
:eek:I bet you wish you hadn't removed it now. How are you going to live in such a crude gauche home?

Weird! I was visiting a mate in Munich last week and, having seen the wallpaper in his new flat, commented that I didn't know that they had woodchip in Germany. They invented the stuff!

As Capttain Mainwaring would say 'typical underhanded Nazi trick"

The house I've just bought looks like a homage to unmoveable decorations. 10 rooms full of woodchip and  artex. Even when a new stud wall was put up it was immediately woodchipped and the new ceiling artexed. I'm sure the previous owner was a sadist who just decorated with savage glee at the thought of the next owner trying to remove it.

Ah well, another room stripped last night.

We shall fight them on the beaches.......

im feeling pretty fed up, stripped woodchip of virtually all the house, to find lincrusta underneath it but only in a few places thank you my lord.... that and ceiling tiles that need to come off, and im just start  ing, this job feels like im being punished for something.... oh well
