Hello, can anyone offer some advice please. I've recently moved into a new house and have just realised it has two boilers - a Potterton Suprima 70L in the kitchen and a Boilermate 2000 on the 1st floor.

Why does it have two and do I need them both or can I turn the Suprima off? It always seems to be starting up whether I'm using hot water or not and my gas bills are very high (I suppose everyone elses are too though !!)

thanks

its not really your mate when it comes to bills.

dont be tempted to turn down the thermostat on the boiler (suprima) as the BM2000 needs to get at least 68 degrees of water to it to heat the store. turn it down at the suprima and the boiler will be working 24/7 as the BM2000 wont ever turn it off most likely leaving two pumps running and continually heating the plate heatex if its falling below 50-odd degrees. leave the suprima on full at the stat.

Not being funny and i know this is a diy site, but the word thick springs to mind.

Hey Gas2air - What is the stated Criminal Law case regarding rules of observations?

You obviously don't know then Gas2air - It is a fundamental case in Criminal Law known to those who are involved in it. Does this gap in your knowledge make you Thick too?

What to you is a basic question may be complex to others outside that field.

Showing your arrogance, as you did with that last comment, undermines this purpose of this forum and does you no credit whatsoever.

Now I like that rebuke.
