Why is the cooker suddenly tripping the RCD?

Hello there. I just posted this in the 'Appliances' section, but I thought this might be a better place to pose the question:

We have a Lofra cooker. It’s only two years old but it’s started to trip the RCD (the house is wired to the 11th) when it gets to temperature and the thermostat clicks the element off.
Occasionally, when the RCD is reset the cooker stays off and won't come back on until the cooker switch has been turen off and on again.
In a way it’s handy because when the TV goes off, I know the oven's ready. But it’s not really practical in the long term.

We had the cooker looked at by an electrician after the faults started, but his test kit couldn’t detect the problem.

I was wondering what if anyone has come across something similar or has any ideas? My plan is to fight Currys to give us a replacement, so it would be useful to have a better idea of the problem.

Thanks in advance,
Paul.

If its only when the oven t/stat turns off then the t/stat must be faulty.

This could be loose connections in the switch, as there is no reason for the thing to stay off when the switch is on.
There might be nothing wrong with the cooker at all.

It might be there is a temperature related fault in the oven turning it off rather that the thermostat. Was it fully hot and showing the fsult as the electrician tested it? It could be something moving under heat.
When it doesn't come back on as expected is there something like a power lamp or internal light that shows the power is getting into the unit? This might help deduce whether the fault is in the appliance or its supply. The Vendor will certainly want to imply it is a supply problem.
