Ah, so it's a safety issue, not a phase issue. Isn't that why you need an isolator and have to tell the DNO you have the kit installed so they can be careful? So if you have a PV system you cannot use it when the power is off :)

Correct, you could have an 'off grid' system installed, but then you'd have to switch between off/on grid supplies. Strange but thats how it is :rolleyes:
