Window and Door screens

Having returned from a trip to Canada and seen they use Aluminium framed Window and Door screens.

These are light and robust, and easily fitted or removed when needed, also easily repaired.

Anyone know if any company supply these kits in the UK.

Over ten years ago I bought something similar from a diy shop/builder's merchant

It was an aluminium extrusion with plastic joints
You cut the alli and made a frame, added hinges etc
The mesh was held in a groove with a round moulded rubber

Yes thats very similar.

Alot neater than mesh curtains etc and tapes etc everywhere.

My only issue with my door sceeen I said that it uses a wide arc to open.
Mine is on the inside of the conservatory so takes up a little more space than I like
I could relocate it outside

Originally I made a 2x1 frame from timber. Then stapled it over with net curtain material and wedged it into the open doorway , closing the door a small amount to trap it in place. Cost little and worked well

The amazon one seems a lot cheaper than I paid but times change

In Canada they are half the Amazon price and on top of that with the exchange rate, cheaper still.
