You need another 2-way switch. See "for reference" thread for details of about 20 ways of wiring 2-way switches together. Dont buy an intermediate - they are for 3rd, 4th, 5th switches etc.

Your lack of punctuation makes your post very hard to understand. I may have misunderstood you due to this.

EDIT: I have just re-read your post and it appears you DO need an intermediate, as you DO have 2 switches already. Wire it between L1's and L2's of the other 2 switches. See for reference for diagrams, again. Please go out and buy a keyboard WITH COMMAS AND FULLSTOPS.

Re the two way switch, i understand the basics of the wiring. but what i need to know is,is whether i need to use a junction box? somewhere between the switch downstairs and the switch upstairs, as i said i have the normal one up and one down switches, which are both two way i understand i have to use an intermediate switch, but all i need to know is "where do i run the feed from to the new switch???? i think i have made myself a little clearer now. Thank you for your advice.

At the switch closest to the new switch position, take the cable from the other switch out and extend it if needs be, to feed to the new intermediate switch.

Then run another piece of 3+E back to the switch, connecting as it was before.

At the intermediate, Connect L1 and L2 cores from the 2 other switches, and continue the other core using terminal block. As i said, im sure there is a diagram for this in for reference.

This advice is based on "conventional" wiring method for 2 way switches.

Dont forget to connect earths to backboxes.

Cheers for using punctuation, makes all the difference! ;)
