Hi forum, this is my first post so hello to all.

I have a fan (RVK Systemair 125L) and a variac speed controller (Manrose 1350).

The fan requires an earth and I have already wired it successfully using a 3 core mains plug.

Now I need to wire in the speed controller. I can see how to wire in the Live and Neutral from the plug, and then on to the fan, this is easy.

Where I am stuck is what to do with the earth connection. The speed controller has no earth connection. How can I safely wire this, and what should I do with the missing earth?

if you're breaking the cable in 2, just put the earth in a piece of connector block and tuck it in with the speed controller connections, job done
