Had a look through the OSG .... can't see any reference to any special requirments w.r.t heat resistant cable etc? Should I run twin and earth straight into the boiler casing or swap to flex at the DP switch next to it?

You need to run Butyl from the DP switch to the boiler. Butyl is heat resistant rubber cable and is the correct cable to use. Its also readily available in Elec. wholesalers and most DIY sheds.
