Juts over two weeks ago I needed to call in a plumber to to fit a replacement Wirquin Jollyflush to stop the cistern dragging air in whilst flushing leaving a low water trap level.
Before employing the plumber I lifted the cistern lid to see if I could see the problem and the white plastic back nut disintegrated.
When the plumber called he said he though it might be possible just to get a replacement nut if not he would get the whole thing, and he would contact me within a few days. The button is at the moment resting on the cistern lid but usable.
I spoke with him a couple of days later as I wanted him to raise the level of water in the cistern to give better flush when he came back and he said he was still looking. Since then I have had no further contact from him and I am assuming that it is too small a job to warrant a return visit.
When I first looked at the mechanism I couldn't see how it could be replaced but was surprised when the plumber just unscrewed the button to look at it, which seems simple enough.
I can get a replacement unit online but would be grateful if anyone could confirm the fitting instructions, or better still post a copy, just in case there aren't any supplied with the unit as I want to know what I need to do before making my purchase.
Thanks
