i want to preserve untreated wooden pallets that will form the base of my shed and wat to know what cheapish wood preserver to use. the pallets will be on a concrete base. thanks in advance[/list]
Pallets are made from non durable timbers, mostly disposable softwood and reusable hardwood.
Brush on treatment is fairly useless, it doesn't penetrate to any depth. It's only useful for timber above ground, like cladding or fence rails, but not for anything resting on the ground.
Keep them raised off the ground, with a DPM underneath and protected from wetting and splash back (so have the building overhang them or bring down the cladding to protect them).[/u]
