Wooden fence

Hi,
Can anyone advise please? I've had a fence put in 70ft garden, panels are 6x6ft. Whole fence sways includinding posts and panels quite a lot (about a foot or so), the gardener tells me this is normal but I've never had a fence which can be swayd so much by hands. Is this normal? Should a fence have so much movement?

hi crunchie, i'm a DIY'er, but i wouldn't expect any movement of that degree...!!

If a post is moving that much in the ground, it'll only get worse and will eventually come down.

Are there gaps around the posts? Are the panels attached firmly to the posts?

i suspect you need deep/longer posts.. you may get away with replacing some of the middle posts.. but would need to see it to advise more..
