SWMBo wants to re-do the bedroom and after the success of the engineered floor in the dining room she wants something similar but darker . . .
Room is L shaped and about 4m square with a 2m wide corridor about 3m long. Has en-suite off.
Joists run across the room and are engineered (not solid timber) have not been able to check how straight they are yet but my gut feeling is "sagging". Flooring is currently green chipboard and is in good conditon but is GLUED to the joists with nails only at the ends.
My experience of this house is that it is very flexible - if you push a partition wall it moves!
Are there any issues to look for in fitting flooring on engineeed joists (either engineered/solid wood to replace the chipboard or a decent laminate on top of the chipboard) - don't want steps.
