my Worcester 230 failed to ignite, I usually just press the overheat thermostat reset button, only this time the reset button is already down, how do I release the button, or just fix the problem?

thanking you in anticipation

Whats the pressure at?
Are all controls calling for heat?
Are you still getting hot water?
Could you tell us what doesn't happen when you turn the boiler on?
Is there anything else going on in the region of the boiler that you should tell us about.
Are you sure its nothing daft? I have been called to similar where a joiner has knocked off the power supply and one last week where some buffoon had piled household stuff in the meter cupboard and knocked the gas off.

Edit :- OH yes a call out at 1am last night where I found that the new occupant had ran out of gas! They didn't know there was a card meter, didn.t have a key for the cupboard and weren't really going to trace the gas supplier and get them out at that time

pressure is 1.5 just under the red mark which is at 2
Are all controls calling for heat? turned to on you mean?
no hot water, the boiler heats the water and radiators
when i turn the boiler on i here a click pressure goes up a little, and does not ignite,
power is on, and i dont think its anything daft, it's had a service new pump and a power flush.

The overheat stat is to protect the boiler from ..... overheating.

If it operates more than twice you should be having the system investigated to determine the cause. There might be safety issues!

Apart from anything else, repeated resetting will cause it to fail!

Why do people ignore repeated malfunctions?

When you say the pressure goes up a little this implies that the boiler is getting a call for heat [turned on] and the pump is working.

Its a corgi job from here on to find the point at which the ignition sequence isn't functioning
