Problem with re-lighting boiler - Pilot light goes out on release of grey button. Seems that the safety device is cutting off the gas supply on release of button - tried following instructions on resetting but to no avail? Faulty gas valve?

prob not the gas valve but will try to explain .pilot flame generates around 30 mili volts at the tip of the thermocoupl (copper lead ) that then travels to the gas valve but not into it , its interupted by a white lead to the high limit stat on top of the gas to water heat ex then back down to the gas valve to generate an electr magnet that will take over from your thumb on the button at this point it has only about 8mv left on a good day so each stage is important ,i would put a new pilot injector new thermocouple and new limit stat in £30 ish. if it fails at a later date the the boiler could be overheating and giveing the limit stat an open circuit.
