I have a Worcester 24i combi boiler. Today it suddenly started to make a very loud noise, it sounds like a fan problem. It was all quiet and suddenly it sounds like a tractor.
I am panicking now, do I have to turn the boiler off or is it safe to leave it on until I can get somebody to come and take a look at it?
Thanks for any help.

Could be fan or poorly seated flue hood.

The fans on these boilers are beginning to fail, I've also had some with bent spindles and out of balance.

The flue hood just sits on top of the heat exchanger so any out of balance fan can create considerable noise.

Get an eng. in to check it out - fans are cheap on this boiler.

Just use it sparingly until sorted.

Hi Ses. Sorry for not replying soon.

Yup, worn fan.

I had one before on a baxi solo 2, fan was rubbing on casing cause by worn bearing, causing it to whinning.

Thanks for your replies.
The boiler stopped completely at night, it's soooo cold now!
I hope the fan exchange will help.
thanks again
