Hi there,

I have an unusual issue with Central heating/Shower which is causing me a bit of annoyance at the moment!

i just bought a new 3 bed house which has a Worcester 28i Junior boiler which was installed in 2010 and has worked perfectly for the past 3 months..

I installed a new bathroom with shower 3 months ago which worked perfectly until last week. For some reason or another when i now use the shower the water is not hot and only mildly warm it has done this a couple of times for a few days before becoming very hot again.

1) When using the taps in the house the water is very hot &
2) The pressure is correctly set to 1.5 bar.
3) Happens with both the central heating on and off

Does anyone know of anything it could be or i could check out?

Thanks for any help and advice you can give :)

Flow rate and pressure. 1.5bar has nothing to do with HW.

Thanks for the quick response, i did not realise that!

I have tried the shower on a slower flow, it stays hotter for a few seconds before becoming even colder than before.

Guessing i will need to get someone in to rectify this?

If the flow rate is correct at taps expect 11l/mins say, plus temp coming in, 35c rise, expect 40/45c at tap. You can alter this by slowing flow. Any poor HW would show on all taps and shower.

However I suspect a shower fault, is it a mixer?

I have just been doing a bit more troubleshooting.

The bath is also the same, the hot water is only mildly hot. The water from the bathroom sink tap is extremely hot to the point it could burn you.

Water pressure appears fine and it nice and strong its just the water is not hot.

The bathroom is directly above the boiler so shouldn't be an issue with distance.
