Hi,

I have jsut bought a house with the above boiler. When the boiler ignites there is a large powerful pop from inside the boiler that sounds like a mini explosion.

The only thing I think this can be is that the ignition is late and a large amount of gas has built up before it is ignited. Apart from that the boiler works fine.

If this is the case, how do I adjust the ignition timing?

Alternatively, does anyone have any other ideas as to what might be the cause?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Colin.

You don't do anything to adjust the ignition timing. (It's not a Morris Minor)
You don't say if the boiler has a service history. Get a service call booked and say that it is noisy on ignition.

In that case its a fault and needs to be diagnosed by a competent boiler engineer who is gas registered.

We dont give DIY gas/combustion advice on open forums.
