Hello,

I have recently moved into a house the with above boiler. Firstly, we had a problem with low pressure but managed to sort that out.

We now have a problem with the central heating, it doesn't come on! I have set the times to what we want (DT20 programmer) and the hall thermostat to 18 degrees. We noticed that the heating didn't come on. I increased the thermostat to about 28 and still no joy. If I change the setting for CH to on as opposed to timed it does come on.

The thermostat is an analogue one. I thought perhaps this was faulty, although it does click at certain temperatures when i turn it up.

Any ideas?

Providing you are competent with electrics, I would get a volt meter on switched live terminal of the timer. Work your way though the different scenarios ie. heating permanently on, heating timed on, heating timed off, heating off. If you get a reading when it should be on, and no reading when it is off, you can rule out the timer.
