Does anyone know if these boilers automatically switch themselves off if you run out of oil?
I posted a different thread saying that our boiler kept fusing its plug but I'm also wondering if we've run out and not realised...would be grateful if anyone can tell us. Thank you.

Thanks for the reply. What's been happening is that when it 'kicks in' (we've only got the hot water on at the mo) it then switches itself off completely: but it's blowing the plugs it's in so we're now unsure of exactly what's happening...just wanted to check the oil situation (as we don't think the measurement thing is working either!)
Thanks

Put a stick in the tank, then you'll KNOW.

What is "blowing the plugs it's in"? Do you mean fuse? If so there is a pump or burner fault.

Yes, thank you, I am now sure that we do have oil. The repairman has been—and gone—and it seems an internal fuse has blown! I am less stressed about the whole thing now :D

Thanks for the feedback.[/i]
