Hi, I have a very basic digital timer in my hallway and it has 3 on/offs for the day and can be programmed for week days and then sat and sunday.

The problem is the batteries go quite often 2 x AAA.

Are there any room stat programmers that do not require batteries and can be powered off the 2 wires that feed the existing one?

Most batteries should last 18 months / 2years in that type of stat.

It would be simpler to just replace it for a new one of the same sort. Look at the Honeywell cm907

2 wires wouldn't be enough to run a mains powered one.

I'll try some known branded ones next but I'm sure they were and only lasting 4-6 months, it ges annoying when you have to type in all the programs each time and no warning it's going. I'll also check it isn't a 3 core cable.
