I've been given some bags of lawn cuttings for my compost bins which I use on my vegetables.

There's some moss mixed in with the cuttings.

How well does moss compost is what I need to know.

I spin the compost bins every month to get air in.

Anyone have a view on this?

Thanks

I've put it in my compost bins before and not noticed any issue. Can't think of any reason not to unless it's been treated will moss killer.

I'll go along with ntb,but if it has been treated with moss killer don't use the compost this year.

the way i look at it is... would Mother Nature separate out the moss on the forest floor?

Moss killer is just iron.

Arguably the most stable element in the known universe.

It's not going to change in a compost bin....

And a little bit of extra iron in your diet might be good for most people.

I've had "advice" over the years about not putting moss or whatever into a compost and have largely ignored it. I chuck pretty much anything in there, teabags , oranges and moss and it doesn't seem to have any detremental effect :D
