The one thing I do know is that I need to get this right first time.

I'm replacing an old pull cord switch in the bathroom, the original is wired :-

green/yellow to earth

2x reds with red sleeves twisted together & into an unmarked terminal

1x red with grey sleeve into a terminal marked 'IN'

* Should I be worried that someone's used all red core wires. Wonder what the rest of the house holds in store for me!

The replacement has:-

earth

3x terminals marked 1 way, 2 way & com

What goes to com, the single wire sleeved grey or the twisted pair sleeved red?

Does it matter if the other goes to either 1 way or 2 way?

My thanks in advance

a light switch only has lives. no neutrals (unless its a loop-thru-switch system)

put the 2 twisted reds in 'comm' and the other red in 1way. for the pull cord, it makes no diffence if L1 or L2 is used, but for a switch it does, since itll operate upside down.

Cheers, it works a treat.

I don't like fooling with elektrickery and along with carpet fitting it's one of the few things I normally get a man in for.
