Zanussi Dishwasher Dispenser

Evening all,

I have an integrated Zanussi dish washer, model ZDT21006FA.

I thought the catch on the detergent dispenser was broken as I couldn't close the door so I replaced the whole dispenser.

I could open and close it fine but when I turn the power back on, the solenoid operates and moves the catch which means you cannot close the little door. When i turn power off, after a couple of minutes the solenoid operates and you can close the door.

So it seems there was nothing wrong with the dispenser and the problem lies elsewhere.

It’s like the dishwasher thinks a program is running/logic messed up.

Does anyone have any insight on what could cause this issue as I cannot find the same problem on the internet.

You need the service manual. Even the manual for a different model can potentially give you some clues.
