My son has managed to pull the emergency drain hose out of our Zanussi 1254fjr. The machine is no longer under warranty, so I'm considering my options.

I'm assuming that if I run the machine, water will come out of the channel where the hose was. (I've not experimented because it'd be a bit of a disaster if I'm right.)

If I just plug the channel, will the machine remain watertight?

Ah, after posting this, I see a few other topics on the subject saying that I should be able to tilt the machine back and see the spigot that the hose attaches to.

I'd certainly appreciate confirmation of this. The machines in tight quarters, so is going to be a pain to get underneath but it'd be doable if it's the way to fix things.
