hi folks, my 3 year old defrost fridge freezer fan isn’t working. The fridge part is fine just not getting blown around the fridge. The fan works if I connect it directly to power and the thermostat control has a closed circuit, any ideas please?

Thanks, a new development, the fan will turn slowly if you give it a push when attached to the fridge but works fine on a direct supply

Hi JJ, I don’t have a volt meter but I’ll get one, I do appreciate your replies:). If the voltage is low what could it be do you think?

Given what you have said then I would have thought a poor connection somewhere or the control board is faulty, but you would need to check the voltage at the output of the board, if indeed you have a low voltage at the fan. Also does it have any sort of capacitor fastened to the fan & how many wires are connected to the fan, I'm guessing just 2 as you have had it connected to an independant supply?
