Zanussi oven ZKC5540 - main oven light always on

I recently tested the timer on our oven (Zanussi ZKC5540) and now the main oven light is always on, unless we switch the power off. When we set the clock time, it comes back on. I set a new program and it went off until the program came on but once complete, the light went back on again. We have a lot of problems with shorting dials on this oven and the first setting on the main oven happens to be to turn this light on but I suspect, in this case it is a program issue. Can anyone advise?

I do actually have the manual and have been through it twice, testing everything but its not particularly comprehensive (there was nothing similar in the "troubleshooting bit)
I was hoping that someone might have had a similar problem. I'd like to be sure that its something to do with the programming but have tried setting and resetting without success
