ZANUSSI WDA 1255W

I have a Zanussi WDA1255W washing machine that does not go into
a fast spin on any setting,if i remove the belt it kicks in with plenty of torque,refitting the belt an it will not spin.
The drain pump appears to be draining although sticking my fingers in through the filter accesss point i can feel water, should this be comletely empty.
I layed the drain hose to ground an got about 1/2 a cup full.
The machine works fine apart from the spin cycle.

Motor brushes or slipping belt then.

thanks for the reply,belt is o.k. as are the brushes,had chat to a repair
guy an the conclusion was that the motor windings are failing.
I will connect up things an try to give the drum some assistance to see if it kicks just to pin point the fault,if it is then its a new machine will be the order of the day as the motors are upward of £170 ouch.
