A factor to consider. UN officials have a whole load of rules concerning wars, peoples lives and etc. These rules are international. The other groups that use them is the ICC and ICJ. Any "reports" they make are based on these rules. They have no power to do anything themselves other than comment / report / judge.

The power to actually do anything resides in the security council especially in the the case of the permanent members. The rules may be seen as inconvenient for various reasons even political ones so vote against which = veto. The elected members are selected by them. It seems they are now prepared to work together. 10 of them which in theory means they can pass what ever they like providing there is no veto.

Say you are an UN rep on the council. Your own personal feelings are irrelevant. You represent your gov's view. That may be influenced by other bodies such as security, strategic aspects and other advisors. Diplomats are yet another group.

If members of a countries population aren't happy about what goes on in these areas demonstrations crop up. Well our lot have even been rather critical of them. They'd prefer the pressure not to be applied. Biden has a problem as Trump says just get on with it. Rather easy to see why. It's interesting that our lot are a bit more vague about the subject.

Maybe it's not. It was taken with a rather long range lens. Israel so far has said edited and doesn't show context. The same could be said about a numbers of theirs. AlJ do use the word appears on the TV broadcast.

More west bank activity. A Palestinian opens fire on 2 settler buses. More raids with the use of bulldozers. Seems these are usually in hot spots - refugee camps.

AlJ is pointing out an odd fact at the moment. Poles apart religious groups wanting Armageddon one way or another. Just finished. Back on to the reporter in the US who is going around trying to talk to various religious leaders. eg One threw him out saying they would report him to the FBI for being antisemitic. All sorts of things come out such as bible classes in the White House concerning policy. Even Trump attends one. Others clutching and praying

C4's John Snow commentated on RT and AlJ. Very critical of RT who now can't broadcast in many countries. AlJ not too bad but. He said it in a more less OK fashion. They generally give an Arabic view and also cover a much wider area of conflicts than out media does. Most main media sources tend to have a gov slant as they report a lot that is gov comment. Gaza - the Alj reporters are the only source of info but others also visit. Even a UK lady who was interviewed on BBC that pointed out what sort of aid was being refused entry and other restrictions. Some of it critical UK aid. She also talked to Cameron about various factors. 2nd hand info. What has Cameron said himself? It's a little like US dep president expressing views that Biden doesn't in the same way.

Snow's view on C4 news was interesting.

I generally check out Al Jizz, they are a solid news outlet. But pretty dire on current events, of course they're funded by the same people backing Hamas so they will be biased, but as you say, there will be a bias on both sides, it's important however that as many lies as possible are exposed on all sides. The post mortem when it ends (if it ends) will be interesting.
 
AL Jazeera is an important counter balance to western media domination of the Israel /Palestine narrative
It gives a voice to people who hold views that the west would prefer the public not to hear.
Al Jazeera has global reach and it makes the BBC look rather Parochial.

The only report on that considers suitcases of cash with regular deliveries. Israeli view - we don't know what happens to it etc. The other view. It's salaries for HAMAS infrastructure salaries.HAMAS run all of the services. Take your pick but salaries are needed and Qatar are providing them.

The 2nd area is HAMAS's own money - a whole variety of investments so they do have income. It's said to be very well managed.

Then of course individuals in certain countries may be donating to HAMAS as with ISIS etc.
