Today we purchased a Yale 6200 alarm and have learned it in and put the siren on the wall but when we test whether the siren is fitted correctly by pressing the arm button nothing happens, it should emit 1 beep if mounted correctly or 5 beeps if the tamper switch is not fully depressed, but it's not doing either! Help please!

Take it off the wall, bring it indoors and put it between two cushions.
Read the instructions again and repeat all the steps. Verify that you have taken out the plastic battery tabs. Verify that you have learned in the keyfob or keypad. Watch if the siren flashes. Watch if the keyfob or keypad flashes as described. Verify that you have exited Programming mode when finished.
Try it out, including a walk test, before putting it back on the wall

I suspect after programming it you did not press the learn button on the siren to take it back out of learn mode
